Consumer Affairs Australia and New Zealand is seeking your views on how the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) is working in practice and how it can be improved. You can have your say at any time during the review process by leaving a comment.
Further information that may help you understand your existing rights and responsibilities under the ACL for consumers and for businesses can be found on the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission website. You can also get information on how the ACL has been implemented by regulators since 2011 by viewing the progress reports.
For general enquiries about the ACL Review please contact ACLReview@treasury.gov.au.
A call for submissions to the Interim Report closed on 9 December 2016. Submissions to the Interim Report and Issues Paper as well as comments received through the website will help inform the development of a final report that will be provided to consumer affairs ministers by March 2017.
